House-warming

Tomorrow afternoon my house will be invaded with anywhere from 27-40 people, and I am so excited.

My list (on the sidebar lol…)  is so even close to being done, but parts of it are… and the parts that are make me happy :)

and really?  lists are just suggestions.  People are what is important.  Family and friends.  More and more I have figured out how much feeding people makes me happy, how much I love that my house is a gathering a place, big enough for that many people. (kind of.  If it is raining or horribly hot we will be a tad crowded.)  So my house is cleaner than it has been in months, the sanding dust finally going away, the piles are not only organized but gone, and my kitchen is full of food.

I have more pictures to come of the process, but in all honest truth my deck is fast becoming my favorite thing ever.  Picture it, covered with people I love, and picture me happy.

 

This is my painters tape + paint samples from home depot+ 75% off canvas from Michaels project for above my couch.  I kind of like it a lot, even though it is a  little weird.  It brings in lovely color to a room that was a tad too gray. 

 

Okay… off to finish cleaning in preparation for Joanna and Tiffany showing up tonight!

The randomness of a Sunday night.

1.  I am watching a really depressing movie called Mercury rising.  Parents with autistic kids are awesome.  and Bruce Willis use to have hair. Who knew?

2. I went to a little big town concert tonight with my sister and my cousin.  Good times.  Funnel cake is never bad.  Country music is never bad. 

3. Some day I will see someone famous in a country music concert. I am thinking brad paisley or Lady A.

4. I have 5 days off. Except not really because my friend called me from work and conned me into going in on Friday. I am a sucker for “corrie we are all tripled with more coming!” stories. Except tonight. Tonight I had plans. [see number 2]

5.  My zucchini is growing. I am excited.  My flowers on the other hand look not so good. 

 

6.  My mom has been weeding my excess flower beds… my house is surrounded by them. That combined with my new deck is making my backyard look awesome.

7.  My mom is awesome.  [See number 6.]

8.  Tomorrow I am starting a new photography class with my dad.  It is going to be pretty much review for me and all new for him… but I am excited to take it with him. 

9. I am obsessively editing the pics from my photo shoot last week.  my main concern is that the skin tones are going to be different and they won’t look good.  do we like the purple tinged black and white or not?

10.  I really like the way my house is coming along.  Really.  It is cute and has personality and once my pictures are actually on the walls it will be amazing.

11.  my party is in 2 weeks and my to do list is long.  I should probably start working on that.

12.  It is bed time now.  Once I finish the depressing movie.  [See number 1.]

(I took a million more, and turned down a free ticket to a nascar race on Sunday because all I want to do is stay home and edit them.  PSE is the kind of computer "game" I am all into right now!)

24 pics from a 24 hr trip

 

 

This past weekend I headed to OKC to meet up with my friend Mychal, her husband Jake and their friend Chad.  We went to the horse races, the will rogers garden, out to the lake for the sunset, and generally just had a good time. Pretty

Someday I am going to get tired of taking pictures of the flowers that keep randomly appearing in my backyard, but it won’t be today, because pretty things keep showing up!

 

 

 

(so. the only color of pink I love is that gorgeous deep magenta, and I was super excited that my roses came in that color. Until I tried to take pictures of them and was once again reminded that my camera does not register deep magenta as a color, and turns it into an orangey pink. I have changed every setting and cannot make it take… so here is my rose in not even close to all it’s glory.)

I love taking pictures.  Tomorrow I am doing my first ever photo shoot for not only people I do not know, but for CHILDREN I do not know.  I haven’t had much experience photographing children, so I am super nervous but excited about the opportunity.  The mom is in the mops group my mom mentors and offered to let me get some practice on her kids.  We will see how they turn out…

(this one did not appear randomly. I planted it, and 7 other like it.  After 2 weeks none of them are dead which makes them pretty to me.  Zucchini bread is coming!)

I had to wake up early, desperately need a nap beefore work, currently have no power to my house and need to (re)vacuum floors I just vacuumed, but I have a ceiling fan in my living room and that makes me happy :) I hope everyone else is having a happy tuesday as well!
